Baby Baby Expo 2013 Loots & Reviews

Before I start off with Baby Baby expo, just to share some additional stuffs for our girl.
My mum just came back from Bangkok and our sticky bean being her first granddaughter (she has a 3 yr old grandson and another grandson on the way already so she was hoping that sticky bean will be a girl so she can dress her up), she can’t resist buying all the girly stuffs for sticky bean.

Sticky bean’s so blessed. All of the above items belonged to her.
Maybe it doesn’t look a lot from the photo as I’ve to stack items on top of each other to take a group pic but it sure is a lot man..plus some of the other things we’ve bought for sticky bean, her clothes, hankies, booties, mittins, caps etc already occupied 2 drawers..

Another buy I would like to share.

look at how small and cute it is!!

Can’t resist buying this pair of socks for sticky bean! Thought it would be perfect for her to wear during her 1st month baby shower.
Robinsons having 20% off, plus being a card member you get additional 20% off!
I paid only $3 for it, such a good buy right!!???
Wanted to get more but the rational side of me told me that she’s probably gona outgrow it very very soon, so one for her baby shower will be enough.

Remember a steal wouldn’t be a steal if you do not need the item at all.

Baby Baby Expo Fair 2013
ok this is a relatively small scale event, the good thing is some of the offers are really good and you get sure win lucky dip for every $30 spent in a single receipt, also cos it’s small scale, it’s not as crowded as the motherhood babyfair we went earlier in May.

One of the star buy we saw from their facebook was Shears baby cot up $458 with Free foam mattress at $199 only but limited to the first 30 sets.
We wanted to check out the dimensions if it’s the smaller sized 120 cm by 60 cm cot that can fit into our room . we will be getting a bigger cot for the nursery from Mr. keir’s sister you see so we won’t need another expensive cot for our room plus due to space constrain we can only fit in the smaller cot.

Initially we couldn’t find the item or the booth as there’s no obvious signage shouting out this is the $199 hot buy, so after a few rounds and just when we wanted to leave disappointedly, I didn’t wana give up!
Must show sticky bean a good example, be persistent with what you want soooo..i started to ask the “suspected” booth about the deal..and we FOUND IT!!

Wooohoo..
So here’s the special buy we’ve bought! Paid a deposit of $50 and arranging delivery in early October. Didn’t want it to arrive too early as there’s 6 months warranty so better to have it delivered nearer to our EDD.
The beddings were excluded though..

But no worries, we bought this sweet cot bumper for sticky bean, with mesh design to promote air flow, also from shears at $30.

And there there’s this natural bamboo nappy liner at $6 each, so Mr. Keir says buy 2 packet.

Rompers at just $3 each! And the material was pretty good, nice and soft. Bought 6-9mths size for these cos we did a stock count before we left home and realized she had too many 0-3mths clothes.

We had 2 chances at lucky dip from our 2 purchases, won this avent nipple shield the first round, not too bad..
Not so lucky for the 2nd round, got a piece of goon diapers sample which was already in our goodie bag. =(

Oh we also received a goodie bag containing some goon diapers, wet wipes, small bottle of kodomo powder, a tube of hand sanitizer.

Verdict: yes i do think the baby baby expo fair is worth going!!

Taiwan Kids friendly Accommodation with slides - not your usual list!

And so from a mere idea of bringing Sticky Bean with us to Taiwan, this idea was put into action with Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promotion where you get to pay only $70 for a child's ticket! Though it's not exactly the cheapest option for flying to Taiwan, we thought to pay a little more for better service and not to mention safety since it will be Sticky Bean's first time traveling on a relatively longer flight. Her first plane ride was a really short one to KL, a mere 1 hour away. If she's manageable on the flight, we can then consider budget airlines such as Scoot or even Jetstar for our subsequent travels. So why Taiwan? There are plenty of reasons for our choice other than both Mr. Keir and myself love Taiwan for the food and hospitality. I'm sure you may have come across Awesome kids friendly accommodation with slides and other themed rooms in Taiwan that are trending in facebook. That was one of the many reasons why we want to go Taiwan too!

BTO Keys Collection and BTO Door Opening Ceremony

And so after a long 4 years wait, our BTO is finally ready for keys collection. To be honest we totally forgot about out BTO and was pleasantly surprised to receive an SMS from HDB to inform us of our BTO keys collection date. That was when we frantically tried to hunt for an ID. Ok to cut the story short, here's what happened on the BTO keys collection day as well as what we did for our "BTO Door Opening Ceremony". There really wasn't an official BTO door opening ritual or ceremony in fengshui. I guess this is just a Singapore custom. Though we do not have a religion, in particular, we just did it for an ease of mind. Love the  living room view from our 30th storey BTO view from our Service Yard BTO Key Collection Process at HDB Time took: less than an hour It was a very straightforward and easy process. Here's what you need to prepare, assuming that you are taking the loan from HDB. Identity cards Marriage certificate if you are buying

Our 7 Day 6 Nights Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary Preview

Here's a preview of our Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary for our trip to Taiwan earlier this month in May 2017. You can click on the respective days for a detailed post. And so we finally embarked on our journey to Taiwan onboard Singapore Airlines! Thanks to Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promo, we decided to splurge a little on the air tickets. The air tickets cost about $1,440 for 2 adults and 1 3.5 yr old. We spent a total of 7 days 6 nights in Taiwan altogether. But in order to make our Taiwan trip more child-friendly, relaxing,  and to cut down on travelling time, we merely visited the North part of Taiwan primarily - Hsinchu, Yilan and Taipei. It's never easy travelling with a young one, hence we should not be too ambitious when it comes to planning your Taiwan Child Friendly itinerary. Good thing is,  Mr  Keir and I have always preferred a chillax itinerary. We're not the type of tourist who loves to jam pack the full day and visit 101 attracti
