Kid-Friendly Accommodation with slides in Tainan and Kaohsiung

Taiwan is such a kid's friendly place and one of the top travel destinations Singaporeans. Easy communication, a fantastic array of food with its bustling night markets, lots of kid-friendly attractions and the only country I know of with an amazing number of kids friendly accommodation

By this definition, I'm referring to accommodations with slides, ball pit and lots of play feature for kids.

Totally the very reasons why we love Taiwan so much, we visited Taiwan in May 2017, did an Okinawa-Taiwan trip in March 2018 and this time around, we intended to fly directly to Kaohsiung in November 2018.

Our previous trips to Taiwan has been saturated at just the North Taiwan and near the outskirts of Taipei, as we already have intentions to fly directly to Kaohsiung, South Taiwan should we want to visit the southern part of Taiwan.

And so that got me started with another Kid-friendly accommodation with slides in both Kaohsiung and Tainan. I was astounded by the variety and number of kids-friendly accommodation with slides in Kaohsiung and Tainan! Other than Yilan, I must say Tainan is the next go-to place for kids-friendly accommodation with slides. Not only do they have lots of kids-friendly accommodation with slides, but there are also plenty of farms stays available for you to choose from.

Tainan used to be the capital of Taiwan and is rich in heritage, think Malacca. Tainan is a small city. You can explore the city by public buses. No need for day tours or cab drivers.
In this post, I would like to share what matters most to us and I'm sure it may matter to you, who are reading this post right now too.

KID-FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION WITH SLIDES IN TAINAN

I'll start off with my shortlisted ones. My requirements are similar to the past, near to a night market, preferably walking distance, near convenience stores, comes fitted with bathtubs and lifts provided. Yes, having lifts in the accommodation is a luxury and not a commodity in Taiwan.

Most of the kid-friendly accommodation with slides in Taiwan are catered to the locals, hence be prepared to communicate in Chinese. Bank transfers can be a challenging task if they do not accept paypal. And when they state their minsu (accommodation) is located near a particular attraction for example, please do your own checks. As 'near' does not mean it's of walking distance. Most of the time, it meant a 5 - 8 minutes drive since most of the local would have driven there for a weekend staycation.

1. Jack Castle - the chosen one

This was the one we've shortlisted. Though the room designs may look a little dated and definitely not the coolest as compared to  Fun 假期亲子旅店, we have a hard time deciding between Jack Castle and Fun 假期亲子旅店. The rooms from the later are definitely way more attractive but Jack Castle is one of the rare kid-friendly accommodation with slides that is of a walking distance to Flower Night Market, 花园夜市, one of the biggest night market in Tainan.

  • 0.5km walking distance to Flower night market  花园夜市

2. Fun 假期亲子旅店 - highly recommended

New up and coming kid-friendly accommodation (minsu) in Tainan. I have a hard time choosing Jack Castle over this one. Super love their vibrant rooms. Unfortunately, they lose out to Jack Castle based on their proximity to  花园夜市

Taiwan Kids friendly Accommodation with slides - not your usual list!

And so from a mere idea of bringing Sticky Bean with us to Taiwan, this idea was put into action with Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promotion where you get to pay only $70 for a child's ticket! Though it's not exactly the cheapest option for flying to Taiwan, we thought to pay a little more for better service and not to mention safety since it will be Sticky Bean's first time traveling on a relatively longer flight. Her first plane ride was a really short one to KL, a mere 1 hour away. If she's manageable on the flight, we can then consider budget airlines such as Scoot or even Jetstar for our subsequent travels. So why Taiwan? There are plenty of reasons for our choice other than both Mr. Keir and myself love Taiwan for the food and hospitality. I'm sure you may have come across Awesome kids friendly accommodation with slides and other themed rooms in Taiwan that are trending in facebook. That was one of the many reasons why we want to go Taiwan too!

BTO Keys Collection and BTO Door Opening Ceremony

And so after a long 4 years wait, our BTO is finally ready for keys collection. To be honest we totally forgot about out BTO and was pleasantly surprised to receive an SMS from HDB to inform us of our BTO keys collection date. That was when we frantically tried to hunt for an ID. Ok to cut the story short, here's what happened on the BTO keys collection day as well as what we did for our "BTO Door Opening Ceremony". There really wasn't an official BTO door opening ritual or ceremony in fengshui. I guess this is just a Singapore custom. Though we do not have a religion, in particular, we just did it for an ease of mind. Love the  living room view from our 30th storey BTO view from our Service Yard BTO Key Collection Process at HDB Time took: less than an hour It was a very straightforward and easy process. Here's what you need to prepare, assuming that you are taking the loan from HDB. Identity cards Marriage certificate if you are buying

Our 7 Day 6 Nights Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary Preview

Here's a preview of our Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary for our trip to Taiwan earlier this month in May 2017. You can click on the respective days for a detailed post. And so we finally embarked on our journey to Taiwan onboard Singapore Airlines! Thanks to Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promo, we decided to splurge a little on the air tickets. The air tickets cost about $1,440 for 2 adults and 1 3.5 yr old. We spent a total of 7 days 6 nights in Taiwan altogether. But in order to make our Taiwan trip more child-friendly, relaxing,  and to cut down on travelling time, we merely visited the North part of Taiwan primarily - Hsinchu, Yilan and Taipei. It's never easy travelling with a young one, hence we should not be too ambitious when it comes to planning your Taiwan Child Friendly itinerary. Good thing is,  Mr  Keir and I have always preferred a chillax itinerary. We're not the type of tourist who loves to jam pack the full day and visit 101 attracti
