Sun Moon Lake B&B Review 日月潭山季花園民宿 - Nantou Kids Friendly Accommodation

aka Sun Moon Lake B&B 日月潭山季花園民宿

Nantou is a popular tourist attraction due to the famous Sun Moon Lake and proximity to other popular tourist attraction such as Cingjing Farm.
We're so glad that we had an opportunity to visit Nantou this time around and I fell in love with Nantou almost instantly. Love the lower temperature and fresh air especially at the Greek Style cottage accommodation we stayed in - Sun Moon Lake B&B 日月潭山季花園民宿 . I love to be surrounded by nature, it just revitalises the soul.

Sun Moon Lake B&B日月潭山季花園民宿 is not your typical minsu in Taiwan.  It is a beautiful greek style cottage tuck away in the hills of Nantou surrounded by nature. The tranquillity of the place makes you forget about the city and puts you right in a relaxation mode.

The weather was at least 10 degrees cooler than Kaohsiung which was getting too warm for us. When we arrived late at night at Sun Moon Lake B&B日月潭山季花園民宿, the temperature is at a low 12-15 degree with the freshest air I've ever inhaled in my life.

The lady boss was extremely hospitable and friendly. We felt bad to make her stay up in order to pass us our keys and show us to our rooms. There were free gifts left in the room for young children such as jigsaw puzzles and frisbee, which makes perfect sense since you can play frisbee in the huge garden which is right outside our room.

We were blessed to get the rooms which were newly built, away from the main building which makes it feels like a private chalet.

See the beige blocks? There's where our rooms were. There were two of such units side by side with the doors opening up to the huge garden in front.

And here's the interior of the room which comfortably sleeps 4 pax.

Spacious room with a round table convenient for us to put our stuff or to eat supper

Yeah, talking about the useful table. We had it covered with all of our windbreakers.

There's something therapeutic about the shower. Must be the gravels.

 Vanity area~!

Rise & shine! Time for breakfast which is located at the main building.

This is the main building

Fully recharged and ready for breakie

Oh yes, you can get discounted tickets for Sun Moon Lake cruises, cable car ride and entry tickets to Formosan Aboriginal Culture village from Sun Moon Lake B&B Review 日月潭山季花園民宿 as well.

The food was actually prepared by the lady boss! Simple affair but delicious

I was confused with the minsu name actually. Sun Moon Lake B&B was used on the website but at the cafe interior, they used the name "Season Garden House" instead.

After breakfast, it's time to explore the place! In lovely weather, you can have breakfast at the porch. I had a cuppa coffee here while watching Sticky Bean explore the place and having fun at the garden.

Kiddy ride ons are available too

This would have been a perfect longkang fish catching area

 Popo who kidnapped a baby!

There's just this charm about the place which I can't explain in writing.

Yes, there's a sand pit with sand building toys for play

It does kept sticky bean entertained for a bit

Beautiful shot with Popo right outside our room

And if you're up for it, there are BBQ pits available! Perfect for the cool weather. We wanted to do a BBQ on the second night but it was booked by a group of Hongkong Tourist.
We will definitely be back to have our BBQ experience in the cold weather!

They have quite a few kinds of bbq pits here.

 This looks really really traditional.

Found a swing near the BBQ area which is also on the way to the Orange garden. Yes, we're in luck. It's the mandarin orange season now and guests are welcomes to do your fruits picking right here at Sun Moon Lake B&B Review 日月潭山季花園民宿.

Did I mention that this is not your usual kind of minsu? We love the experience we get staying at Sun Moon Lake B&B Review 日月潭山季花園民宿.

Entrance to the mandarin orange garden

Rows and rows of oranges, apparently the green ones were riped and can be plucked and eaten as well.

Wondering if this can be eaten since it is green in colour and the oranges that we consume are usually orange in colour.

 My favourite shot. So instaworthy.

We had an extremely pleasant experience staying at Sun Moon Lake B&B 日月潭山季花園民宿 aka Season Garden House. Like I mentioned earlier, this is not your usual run of mill minsu or hotel accommodation.
I love the fact that we can bask in nature here and experience simple activities such as fruit picking, playing frisbee in the huge garden or just enjoying a cup of coffee in the porch in the lovely weather.

I will highly recommend staying at Sun Moon Lake B&B 日月潭山季花園民宿 if you are visiting Nantou county. It is definitely worth the experience.

Taiwan Kids friendly Accommodation with slides - not your usual list!

And so from a mere idea of bringing Sticky Bean with us to Taiwan, this idea was put into action with Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promotion where you get to pay only $70 for a child's ticket! Though it's not exactly the cheapest option for flying to Taiwan, we thought to pay a little more for better service and not to mention safety since it will be Sticky Bean's first time traveling on a relatively longer flight. Her first plane ride was a really short one to KL, a mere 1 hour away. If she's manageable on the flight, we can then consider budget airlines such as Scoot or even Jetstar for our subsequent travels. So why Taiwan? There are plenty of reasons for our choice other than both Mr. Keir and myself love Taiwan for the food and hospitality. I'm sure you may have come across Awesome kids friendly accommodation with slides and other themed rooms in Taiwan that are trending in facebook. That was one of the many reasons why we want to go Taiwan too!

BTO Keys Collection and BTO Door Opening Ceremony

And so after a long 4 years wait, our BTO is finally ready for keys collection. To be honest we totally forgot about out BTO and was pleasantly surprised to receive an SMS from HDB to inform us of our BTO keys collection date. That was when we frantically tried to hunt for an ID. Ok to cut the story short, here's what happened on the BTO keys collection day as well as what we did for our "BTO Door Opening Ceremony". There really wasn't an official BTO door opening ritual or ceremony in fengshui. I guess this is just a Singapore custom. Though we do not have a religion, in particular, we just did it for an ease of mind. Love the  living room view from our 30th storey BTO view from our Service Yard BTO Key Collection Process at HDB Time took: less than an hour It was a very straightforward and easy process. Here's what you need to prepare, assuming that you are taking the loan from HDB. Identity cards Marriage certificate if you are buying

Our 7 Day 6 Nights Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary Preview

Here's a preview of our Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary for our trip to Taiwan earlier this month in May 2017. You can click on the respective days for a detailed post. And so we finally embarked on our journey to Taiwan onboard Singapore Airlines! Thanks to Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promo, we decided to splurge a little on the air tickets. The air tickets cost about $1,440 for 2 adults and 1 3.5 yr old. We spent a total of 7 days 6 nights in Taiwan altogether. But in order to make our Taiwan trip more child-friendly, relaxing,  and to cut down on travelling time, we merely visited the North part of Taiwan primarily - Hsinchu, Yilan and Taipei. It's never easy travelling with a young one, hence we should not be too ambitious when it comes to planning your Taiwan Child Friendly itinerary. Good thing is,  Mr  Keir and I have always preferred a chillax itinerary. We're not the type of tourist who loves to jam pack the full day and visit 101 attracti
